interppretation of a poem…?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

Do u like the poem below, if so why?

I’ll tell you how the sun rose
a ribbon at a time.
the steeples swam in amethyst,
the news like squirrels ran.
The hills untied their bonnets,
The bobolinks begun.
The i said softly to myself,
"that must have been the sun!"
But how he set, i know not.
There seemed a purple stile
Which little yellow boy and girls
where climbing all the while.
Till when they reached the other side,
A dominie in gray
Put gently up the evening bars,
and led the flock away.
by emily dickinson

I like nearly everything Emily Dickinson has written.

Emily Dickinson – I’ll tell you how the Sun rose

I’ll tell you how the Sun rose –
A Ribbon at a time –
The Steeples swam in Amethyst –
The news, like Squirrels, ran –
The Hills untied their Bonnets –
The Bobolinks — begun –
Then I said softly to myself –
"That must have been the Sun"!
But how he set — I know not –
There seemed a purple stile
That little Yellow boys and girls
Were climbing all the while –
Till when they reached the other side,
A Dominie in Gray –
Put gently up the evening Bars –
And led the flock away –

I am re-posting her poem with the capitalization that was intended by the writer. (5:59 pm)

It’s effectively imitation carbon fibre made from plastic. It can be sanded & sprayed.

Why does every culture have hats?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

…or some other kind of head covering? It goes way beyond simple fashion, it often has a religious connotation. Especially in more traditionalist/fundamentalist cultures having something on your head often seems mandatory for males and females. From yamulkes and headscarves for orthodox jews to bonnets and wide-brims for Amish and everyone in between. In Western countries the practice has declined in the last 40-odd years (except for baseball caps) but before then men and women follwed a similar custom. What I want to know is…why!?!?

To protect the head from the cold.

Children’s easter bonnet parade hat ideas please. (:?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

My younger brother and sister, both five (twins), have an easter bonnet parade competition at school on thursday. My mother has asked me to find some ideas of something we could make for each of them.
Idea’s please?, because i am completely stuck. Something original.
Thankyou. (:

The boy could wear a decorated egg and the girl an easter lily.

or they could both have easter baskets as their hat. I mean easter baskets with grass and bunnies and eggs.

Both my mother and my husband’s mother would like to make the baptismal gown for my baby. What should I do?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

Both my mother and my husband’s mother have asked to make the baptismal gown for my baby’s baptism. I would like to let my mother make the gown, but I also want them both to have a part in the baptism. Do you think that if I asked my husband’s mother to make a baptismal bonnet she would be happy? What should I do?

Lucky you!! And lucky grandbaby too!
Maybe ask your Mother-in-law for a bonnet and a jacket if the weather is going to be cool. Perhaps they can coordinate by using the same fabric for all three. (My daughter-in-law saved the fabric cut off of her wedding gown for the baptismal gown.)

is it against the law to pick Blue Bonnets in texas? If so what is the law in the state books. I can not find?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

What is the fine and where can I find it in the state law books?

It is illegal to pick bluebonnets from the right of way of a road. You can pick them in an open field (other side of the fence). There is no specified fine for picking bluebonnets on the right of way of a road.
