Comments on: Clothing size for a 5 pound 11 ounce baby?

I'm not sure what country you're in but where I am, some brands of baby clothes come in an "up to 7lb" size. My little guy was 5lbs 6oz when he was born and was in that size for quite some time. If you check on the tags, there should be an indication of what the suggested weights are.

I had a 5 pound 14 oz baby girl and she wore preemie clothes. She was to small to wear newborn clothes. I would by preemie clothes.

i had a 6 pound 11 oounce baby and the 0000 sizes were big on him :S..so maybe buy one or two outfits that are a size 00000… and a few 0000 just to grow into… you could use 000 but my son was practically swimming in the clothes so to speak…

5 pounds! that is tiny! my baby was born 11 pounds. i would get that baby a 0000 outfit, or maybe a bit bigger so he/she can fit in it after a while.

Well the baby will grow and it is unlikely that such a tiny baby will be put into top and shorts. Why not get her the size she will be by next summer? I know I was forever exchanging clothes that my friends bought for my daughter into bigger sizes that I had fewer clothes for!

if you want it to fit now buy 0000 but 000 and 00 will fit it down the track as it grows..
