    This minds me of my dad, a few years dead now.

    He was in the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and landed on Sword Beach in the D Day landings. This was his regimental march, the Blue Bonnets and as a bairn I was priveleged to get all the stories and inspiring moments.

    As a result this song moves me deeply.

    We in Scotland will never recognise “God save the Queen” as our national anthem. Flower of Scotland is and will always be our National Anthem. Nothing against Lizzie and her family but I would rather sing God save our country SCOTLAND, England is seperate in my view.

    Nice comment, but it was Roy Williamson who wrote Flower Of Scotland. Ronnie Browne has been doing a great job with it since Roy’s been gone. God bless them both, they were the best!

    Scotlands anthem was “God save the Queen”
    They were invaded you know.Most Scots saw Flower of Scotland as their Anthem. When they finally got their own government a new one was written which isnt about killing Englishmen.

    These boys single handedly kept Scottish folk music alive during the 60’s and 70’s. Nobody has taken the reigns.

    Ronnie Brown wrote Flower of Scotland which was the un official national anthem of Scotland for years…and still is to some.The Corries were the top folk band there for most of the 60 s

    An absolutely fabulous performance. This may be my favorite Corries tune–although it would be impossible to choose from so many great works.
