How much to pay for bonnet respray?

I was wondering if there are any experts out there. Who could give me a rough / average cost i should expect to be qouted. For my replacement bonnet to be re-sprayed the same mettalic green as my car. In uk so in £’s is possible, Thankyou.

I’ve just been quoted £250 for two doors and a rear-side panel (metallic paint) so I would say no more than about £150.

The best advice I can give is to get more than one quote. Also, deliberately go to a really cheap place and then use their quote to get better places to bring their prices down! (I got my quote reduced from £295!)

  2. It really depends on how you want it to look you could probably find somebody who will only charge you £150 but then up to £300.These factors depend on whether its done in a low bake oven and the quality of the materials used and how skilled the person is doing the job.It really depends on how much your prepared and how much you can spend. Don’t expect a million dollar job for a £100 because you wont get it.

  4. most places charge 100 quid a panel for spraying in a solid colour, but being metalic they have to spray the paint then laquor it after so it could be double. its not just the spraying your paying for but the cleaning out of the gun so if he has to do it twice then it can cost alot more. then there is also the polishing afterwards but it is best left for a few days to really harden as an oven only does so much. its not just heat it needs but air too so the thinning products in the paint evapourate and leave the paint ot harden which doesn happen in an oven to if he is a good sprayer expect him to have it for 3 days not just a few hours

  5. A new bonnet would cost about £165 to prime and paint but i would advise blending the colour over the top of the front wings for a good colour match i would charge about £40 a wing depending on the size so about £245.this price is for a quality job and you will find prices vary alot between different bodyshops.
