What are those pin things on the bonnets of racing cars called?

I think they’re to keep the bonnet from flying up whilst driving at high speeds..

Hood and deck pins. Come in several types but they basically prevent body panels from opening or flying off in the event of a crash. They also save weight as you can eliminate the latching mechanism and hinges.
