Customer Property

Clause 7.5.4 of ISO 9001 defines the requirements for identifying, verifying, protecting and safeguarding customer property. In order to comply a quality management system should address the need to take care of customer property including intellectual property and personal data while it is under the organisation’s control. The organisation will need to maintain records of customer property and report any losses, damage or unsuitable property to the customer.

ISO 9001 Clause 7.5.5 Preservation of product requires a compliant organisation to ensure product preservation, including the identification, handling, packaging, storage and protection of product during processing and delivery to ensure product conformity to requirements.
