Do car stickers leave a mark when you take them off?
I’ve just bought a new car and it’s black. I want to jazz it up with some car stickers on the bonnet but im worried that they will make a mark if i take them off for resale in the future? I want to know if will damage the paintwork or leave a sticky mess on iect.
I do this for a job…
the stickers DO NOT damage the paintwork – they actually PROTECT it (everything around it fades / scuffs)
Removal is easy – hot day or WARM them with a heat gun & peel.
Any residue – unleaded petrol & then T-cut the panel before re-sale.
If a metallic paint – even better – they just need cleaned not T-cut.
Yes, they are a complete pain, you’ll always be able to see where they’ve been.

I find they rip all the hairs off my arm, lol.

take them off with a hair dryer, not a hot hair gun!

Yes you will be able to see the mark where the sticker was.
It’s better to not put such things on your car, it would probably decrease it’s resale value.

They make an awful mess and I would not stick anything to my car. I remove all stickers, especially those showing the name of the dealer, immediately from the glass.

New cars now have water-based paints. These are very sensitive to having things stuck on them – inluding bird muck. Stickers will leave an indelible mark on your car. Black is probably the colour most likely to show marks (also red, but that is because red fades a little).
