How do i remove stickiness from car bonnet?
I had a sticky number plate on the front of my car, as in an actual sticker and have now decided to change this, i have taken it off and have been left with the sticky stuff, what would you recommend to get rid of this?
Thanks in advance!
The BEST way to remove this "sticky" stuff (would be nice to know what it is, exactly) without permanently damaging your paint would be to use a hair dryer on the "glue" to warm it up, then use a soft cotton cloth dipped in hot water (old towel works great for this) and buff it out (you will need to use a little firm pressure here). You may need to repeat this a few times to get all the gunk off, but it works every time (as long as it wasn’t super glue!!!!!!!) Alternately, you could wait for a really, REALLY hot day in the summer, leave it out in the sun for a couple of hours, then try to buff it out… and no, I’m NOT kidding!!!
Alternately, there is something called "bug and tar remover" that also works to remove anything sticky from car bodies without damaging paint or clearcoat finishes…. you could try that if all else fails. Good Luck!
try some wd40 it really does work its a bit smelley though

Wipe it on, let it sit for a couple hours, and wipe it off…….REALLY!!

There are a couple of things you can use, there is Goo Gone and Goof Off. You can buy these at Wal Mart, K Mart, Target, at any auto parts store or home improvement stores. They work really great!!

WD40 works well if the stickiness is not very thick, if it is use a little lighter petrol and a dry rag.
