For those just beginning a blues guitar lesson, often ponder if it would be better to start learning on an electric guitar. That question is a good one, since you will often see legends of blues on electric guitars.

This may not be the answer you want to here, but you really should just play what you have available. Sure there are certain techniques and methods that are not as easily achieved on an acoustic guitar, but these methods tend to be more advanced.

If you are just starting out, then you really don’t want to invest too much money in an electric guitar initially. Not until you have decided that this is the instrument and genre for you.

So just continue doing your blues lesson and don’t worry about having B.B. Kings guitar just yet.
