Truck drivers testing positive for drugs?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin

Imagine an out-of-control big rig on the roadway whose driver is operating this large vehicle under the influence of drugs. This scene is extremely scare and frightening, but even more frightening to me, is the fact that this has become a very real and prevalent problem on our highways.

One such accident occurred on the Chicago Skyway Toll Plaza where an 80,000-pound truck veered right, jackknifed and crashed into 22 cars causing numerous injuries. The trucker in that case had fallen asleep and later tested positive for cocaine and the trucking company – his employer – apparently had a history of failing to conduct mandated drug testing. The Fox investigation found that many companies were failing to test newly-hired drivers. Some did not even test their drivers after serious accidents and some others actually put drivers back to work on the road even after they had failed drug tests.

If you or someone you know has been involved in an accident with a big rig, it’s important that you do some research and find a qualified and experienced Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer to mange your case or at least advise you in some way.

ESL Employment: My Opinion

Posted on February 19th, 2010 by admin

Seekers of ESL employment opportunities might follow many different approaches. This is a good thing because the flexibility in terms of the jobs that are open allows different people with different needs and situations to find a job that fits them. This keeps them in the proverbial game as far as landing a solid job offer. Among these opportunities for ELS employment are:

Overseas employment: Just like it sounds, this would involve signing a contract with an ESL employment service and traveling overseas to teach English. Once the instructor arrives in the country, he or she would be assigned a student to teach.

Domestic teaching refers to teaching that is within this country, rather than overseas. This branch of ESL employment is about teaching ESL students who live in the same country as the instructor. These classes may be taught in a location chosen by the company which employs the student or they may be given at the residence of either the teacher or the pupil.

English Teaching Jobs: New Opportunities

Posted on February 18th, 2010 by admin

The more organized you are in setting goals and objectives, the better your chances will be in obtaining a high-paying English-teaching job while you learn as much as you can about the world around you. There are few things more exciting than securing an English teaching job that takes you around the world.

If you hold fast to your dreams, the sky is the limit. It isn’t a matter of just taking the highest paid job, but of taking the one that offers the most possibility for cultural exchange and travel that you’re seeking by going this career route. Of course, you’ll really have it made as an English teacher if you can land a job as a private tutor for a well-to-do family. Your responsibilities as a teacher will leave you lots of time for traveling around the country you’re employed in so you can take in its culture and history.

As you look for a position teaching English, consider signing a contract with a business whose branches are scattered around the globe. Take advantage of the fact that international business and commerce requires that a common language be spoken and not everyone is able to do that. The greater your skills as an English teacher, the greater your chances of being pursued by very powerful corporations who would be willing to pay quite handsomely to retain your services.

Any jobs at the end of your Medical massage course

Posted on February 7th, 2010 by admin

Medical massage is a specific narrow area of massage and if people are going to train and give up their hard earned money and spend their time studying one of the any medical massage courses they want to know if there is likely to be a job at the end. In a recession this concern is greater but massage therapy offers you lots of potential avenues to exploit.
Firstly you can work in sports injury clinics (e.g. Chiropractic clinics or physiotherapy clinics), hospitals amongst a team of people etc. There will never be a shortage of people in pain or who have been injured and so when in pain people will pay to get out of it. If you were a general therapeutic massage therapist the list of clients might not be so great because people may sacrifice their monthly massage when times get hard financially.

Mining Macinery

Posted on January 27th, 2010 by admin

I watch the educational TV channels (Discover, History, TLC, etc.) all the time. I am always fascinated by the stuff they have on. I saw some episode of Mega Machines the other day and they had giant heavy equipment machines for mining operations. I mean, I saw huge dump trucks, giant bulldozers, and other equipment that I don’t even know the names of. How the heck does someone learn how to operate those monsters? It looks like they make the operators very comfortable with air conditioning and all. That’s a lot different from what I see that the operators of the smaller machines around my town have to deal with.
