Hair Regimen (Part 1)

Posted on August 23rd, 2009 by admin

My hair Regimen by request of ameilialaurn
PREPOOING optional:
if you decide to prepoo which is always great especially if u have dry hair. simply mix a raw egg, some mayonaise and either a botanical oil, or a household oil like caster or something in a bowl (and if you like u could had a cholesterol) and apply it to ur hair and leave it on for about 5 to 10 min under a dryer.

SHAMPOOING:
begin ur process start with ur favorite shampoo. even if its just something that makes ur hair smell good is fine. but i recommend that u eventually find a moisturizing one to help hydrate ur hair. by doing this u help moisturize ur hair from the beginning so u have less need for heavy oils later on.

DEEP CONDITIONING:
after shampooing i want you to put in a homemade conditioner which if u’ve seen my “making my conditioner” video u’ll know that you can simply go through ur product stash and find a moisturizing, deep conditioning (or cholesterol), and reconstructing conditioner. put on ur hair and leave on with a shower cap for a minimum of 5 minutes. (i normally do this in the shower and bathe while letting my conditioner set in, if you have a heating cap that’s great but if not the heat from the shower should do the trick)

LEAVE-IN TREATMENT:
once ur done with ur wash and condition, do not dry ur hair but put in ur favorite leave-ins whatever they may be. (i like to have one for my full head as well as one specifically for my ends but if you dont have one for ur ends, a simple oil NOT GREASE BUT OIL (preferably botanical oil) is fine – make sure to add the oil to ur scalp as well)

then add biosilk silk therapy (generic version available at sally’s) or ur own personal glossing polish that u prefer

DRYING PROCESS:
after that u add a foaming wrap lotion to ur hair and comb as u saw in the ateya video and go sit under a dryer. (my method does not take nearly as long as ateya because i sit under my dryer for about a max of 15min. using a softbonnet dryer taht covers my entire head down to my shoulders. its called ion professional ionic soft bonnet dryer. also i believe that the wrap lotion i use mite have something to do with it because often my hair half way dry before i even get the bonnet on good.)

from there, i’ll section my into fours and blow dry my hair by sections (this also cuts down on time and arm strain, especially if ur hair is not relaxed…in fact, if ur hair is not relaxed, skip the bonnet all together it’ll only diffuse ur curls and make ur hair harder to comb out)

Docjazz4’s “Are you an ocarina guru” contest: my entry

Posted on August 17th, 2009 by admin

This is my entry to Docjazz4’s “Are you an ocarina guru” contest, and my interpretation of “I have a bonnet trimmed with blue”. The last parts (not on the original score) are mine.

I recorded it live, in one pass, with a kind of loopstation. This device replays the last played part adlib, and new parts can be overdubbed. So I begin by composing a backing track, then play the song on it.

After the recording, I mixed the song: panned the backing tracks to get a stereo song, added a small reverb, and a bit of compression to polish.

The ocarinas are a Mountain Ocarinas Warmstone G and Polycarb C. The percussions are… you’ll see :-)

The intro is done in esperanto, since my english is, well… what it is…

HOS ORBOT Orbital Drive Technology Explained

Posted on August 14th, 2009 by admin

www.hos-usa.com
The Orbot is the most compact, versatile commercial and residential orbital floor machine. The Orbot has been engineered to offer a multiple of machine sizes all in one: 17″, 19″, 22″, and 23″. In one single machine, the Orbot’s cleaning path can transform from 17 inches up to 23 inches by simply changing out the driver to the required size. This unique driver system also mounts to an ortment of pads and brushes to clean, scrub, sand, strip, and polish any carpet and hard floor.
The HOS system was designed in mind to support a healthy indoor environment. Carpets will simply be clean, vibrant in color, and dry within minutes. The system will eliminate the most common problems caused by other cleaning methods that lead to mold growth, mildew, volatile organic compounds (VOC), insufficient drying times, recurring stains, and safety hazards.

HOS unique low-moisture system uses 10 times less the amount of water opposed to other water extraction methods. Therefore, over-wet carpets will never be an issue. The problems ociated with over-wet carpets are intensified in a heavily used setting. Over-wet carpets require longer drying times. This can cause large sections of a building to be blocked off for extended periods of time. Especially in a school, hospital, or commercial building this can lead to serious safety issues. People walking from a wet or damp carpet directly onto a hard-surface floor can slip or fall. Also, wet carpets that are walked on will almost always resoil more quickly. This is because the chemicals and moisture act as a magnet, pulling dirt and debris into the carpet fibers.

Most dry soil in a commercial or residential carpet can be readily removed by routine dry vacuuming. However, its the oily and sticky soils that attract and hold dry soil to the carpet fibers. The result is a dull, gray, and ugly appearance. To effectively remove these soil particles from the carpet fibers, the right amount agitation is needed. Orbital drive technology is the answer. The orbital drive of the Orbot generates hundreds of small oscillations that spin at roughly 1725 revolutions per minute. This orbital drive pattern allows for all sides of the carpet fibers to be agitated and therefore all of the soil will be effectively removed from the carpet fiber. To ensure that the agitated soil will not stick to the carpet fiber again, a Polymer is needed to trap and encapsulate these soil particles. The polymer element in Environ will form distinct crystals when it dries. These crystals are the principle vehicles that stop wicking or the reoccurring of stains. They also enable the soil particles to be extracted through post-vacuuming, which keeps carpets cleaner for longer periods of time.
