My Conditional Admission Into Graduate School
First, my admission to the Master’s Program was on a conditional admission so for me being a fully mastery goal oriented student is great but until I meet the requirements of conditional admission, grades take top priority over mastery. Second, I personally find it very difficult to maintain a mastery goal orientation when every aspect of education functions on some type of comparison performance based rating system. I have taken classes where I have gotten no direct credit, as far as that class counting toward my degree, but even with my intrinsic love for educating, I recognize that if I do not receive an A or B in the class, my grade point average drops.
