If you painted it single stage you are damaging the blue paint that you just put on. If you did a 2 stage you are using a too harsh of a compound. Try a 3m buffing compound. If you know you have lots of paint on this car this should be safe if not your going to have to 600 sand the whole surface and then shoot it with clear coat. 600 is actually a deeper grit than you think.
