Can a hat be a bonnet?

i saw a fab little like sun hat, pale yellow with a little white lacy trim, its shaped a bit like an upside down bowl, very cute, i want it, is it a bonnet?

a bonnet is a hat: Bonnets, are just a name for a type of hat worn by women and young girls. Bonnets come in a couple of different forms.
1) is usually fitted to the head and ties under the chin.
2) is lose fitting and puffy (considered to be a sleeping cap many years ago)

it’s a hat. Sounds cute. Bonnets usually have a tie that goes under your chin
