Is this poem any good????
I found some of my older poems…I am trying to compile a book together and in the beginning of the book I am going to have my early works…..its a book of poetry, and I just recovered this poem that I wrote when I was 10 years old, (Im 21 now)….is it book worthy? Keep in mind I was 10 years old….so its not as good as my current work.
"Amelia My Dear"
Amelia my dear, why do you cry?
So mournfully stagnant, it seems you should try…
Whipped curls of lace and a bonnet of blue
With shiny black buckles on your Mary Jane shoe
Amelia dear child, when you dance beneath the moon
Remember your place, and never pray too soon
Midnight approaches and your carriage is drawn
You must run away before the sun reaches dawn
Dearest Amelia, listen close to this tale
Pink roses are blooming amongst the winding trail
And if my dear you should lose your way
Take a look at the northern star and forget not to pray
And when at last you reach that city of gold
You shall have a new story…still left un-told
I left out the last line…sorry
it is very good
it is very good
