*BC/EFA EASTER BONNET at Minskoff Theatre
*Wendy Wasserstein and BC/ECF event
*PAMELA’S FIRST MUSICAL at Town Hall
Easter is already a faint memory this year. I have no idea why it happened practically in the dead of Winter, and quite honestly, it felt like a non event and there were some pitiful bonnets on 5th Avenue. No matter, you have not seen an Easter bonnet, until you’ve seen the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Easter Bonnet Competition. A virtual cornucopia of color and design crafted by the cast and crews of dozens of Broadway shows, one of the bonnets even has a small city living in inside it. The Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights Aids Easter Bonnet is an annual spring event that puts a button on an intensive 6 week fundraising period on Broadway. The competition will be held April 28th and 29th at the Minskoff Theatre and is not to be missed.
Another great BC/EFA event is coming up on May 18th and this one is going to be a hot ticket. The final work of the late Wendy Wasserstein (book) and the late Cy Coleman (music) will be presented in concert at 3:00 on Sunday, May 18 at Town Hall with a reception to follow at Sardi’s. Proceeds will benefit BC/EFA and Theatre Development Fund’s Open Doors Program, which Wendy Wasserstein founded.
Pamela’s First Musical features an all-star cast starring Tony Award winner Donna Murphy as Pamela’s beloved “Aunt Louise.” A ton of stars like Richard Kind, Tommy Tune and Robert Klein are also scheduled to appear…It’s a one act musical, based on Wasserstein’s 1996 children’s book about a young girl from the suburbs who spends an unforgettable birthday with her eccentric, sophisticated Aunt Louise attending a lavish Broadway production and meeting all the glamorous, creative people who made it possible..
Two great events coming up to benefit an awesome organization…
