Yngwie is the Swedish, lightning-fast, guitar shredding egomaniac that helped change the way people look at metal and is one of the most influential heavy metal guitarist of the 80’s and 90’s. His early collaboration with Ron Keel (who later went to found his band, Keel) on a short-lived project called Steeler gained Yngwie a name in the early 80’s across the globe. Yngwie then joined Alcatrazz with ex-Rainbow singer Graham Bonnet for a couple of years before going solo. I personally have been a fan since those early days and was lucky enough to see Yngwie perform with Alcatrazz when they opened for Ted Nugent at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ. I also saw Yngwie a couple years later on his “Rape and Pilage Tour ‘85″ with Jeff Scott Soto at a small club outside of Philadelphia, PA. The numerous people who have played on an Yngwie album comprise a virtual all-star lineup in the field of hard rock/metal and include members of Rainbow, Loudness, Obsession, Ozzy, Stratovarius, Dio, Black Sabbath, Riot, Talisman and others.
